Т. 1. 2018 172 usage of traditional elements can show the ties of the author with Korean and Far Eastern culture, and the same time showing how they are mastered in each particu- lar case, how skillfully they interweave with new and original elements. Adding to a Korean specific of a work, they do not limit the specific to the cultural aspect, but demonstrate a complex and artistic mixture of native and global, personal and general, intentional and unconscious etc. This can only add to the value of the work in question. Understanding of such models helps to uncover the inner specifics of each work, to see it as a whole, to comprehend the idea considered by the author and appreciate all the nuances of the ways it is expressed. Besides, considering variety of usage of these elements serves to grasp the intertextual relations of texts belonging to different times and trends, and therefore, concern the specific features of Korean literature as a phenomenon. Ivanova Iuliana (FEFU, Russia) Social Issues in the Works by Contemporary Women-Writers This article analyzes the works of five top contemporary women-writers of Japan highlighted in the rank of the most popular authors by the end of 2017. Top one is Miyuki Miyabe, who is famous around the world by her detective stories. She covers the problem of isolation that causes most crimes in her novels. Ekuni Kaori speaks about young people, families and communication between partners, parents and kids. Yamamoto Fumio investigates the crash of partners` marriage expectations and the problem of choice. Hayashi Mariko depicts ladies in their thirties still trying to find a spouse and Yamada Eimi demonstrates the interracial interactions. Thus, women-writers develop the issues of Japanese society and inner families` problems that many readers are familiar with. All of them were born from 1954 to 1964 and do not have a big gap in the age that determines the proximity and relevance of issues, which they cover. They correspond to the interests of Japanese readers and ensure the popularity of women-writers.
