5 Dong Xiao (Nanjing University, China) Nationalism in Contemporary Chinese and Russian Literature The literary relations between China and Russia in the past hundred years have clearly shown the great influence of Russian literature on Chinese literature. In fact, there is a similary cultural mentality behind the literary relationship between the two countries. Among them, the nationalism is a kind of cultural mentality in the literature of the two countries in recent years. Whether in China or in Russia, the nationalist trend of literature is entangled with another sensitive and complex problem, that is, the nationalization and modernization of literature. The background of globalization has increased the frequency of the collision and confrontation between different cultures, and at the same time, it is also easier to stimulate the prosperity of cultural relativism. Economic globalization can not be regarded as a single cultural value, but cultural nationalism can not be carried out on the basis of cultural relativism.
